Key Changes in MA-LTC Policies to Expect in 2026

The Minnesota Department of Human Services recently announced updated standards for several figures that are used to determine financial eligibility or people receiving Medical Assistance for Long-Term Care Services (MA-LTC). The updated standards go into effect on January 1, 2026.
The Community Spouse Asset Allowance (CSAA) increases from $157,920 to $162,660.
The Maximum Monthly Income Allowance increases from $3,948 to $4,066.50.
The Personal Needs Allowance increases from $128 to $132.
The Remedial Care Expense amount increases from $263 to $267.
The Special Income Standard (SIS) increases from $1,295 to $1,320.
The Home Equity Limit increases from $730,000 to $752,000.
